The present invention relates to pteridines represented by the formula: <IMAGE> in which Q represents a group of formula: <IMAGE> n being equal to 1 or 2; X is an oxygen atom, a sulphur atom, a sulphonyl group or an imino group; R is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl, which is linear or branched, cycloalkyl, allyl, propargyl, cyclopropylmethyl, alkoxyalkyl, 2-hydroxyethyl, 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl, 2-(2,2,2-trifluoroethoxy)ethyl, 1,1,1,3,3,3-hexafluoro-2-propyl, phenyl optionally substituted by 1 or 2 halogen atoms or by a methyl, methoxy, trifluoromethyl or dimethylamino group, benzyl optionally substituted by 1 or 2 halogen atoms or by the methyl radical, phenyl- ethyl optionally substituted by 1 or a number of halogen atoms, or 2-tetrahydropyranyl group; or Q, X and R together form a heterocyclic group, in particular the 2-furyl or 2-tetrahydrofuryl group; Y is a hydrogen atom or the phenyl radical; Z is a hydrogen atom or the methyl radical; or Y and Z together form a bond; R1 is a hydrogen atom or the methyl radical; R2 is a hydrogen atom or the methoxy radical. Applications of these compounds as hypouricaemiants (hypouricaemiating medicaments).
