PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-bearing reel for fishing capable of keeping high gear ratio and reducing the size of the reel even by decreasing the depth of spool and ensuring the sufficient line capacity of the spool. SOLUTION: The outer diameter A of the reel main body is set to 35-70 mm, the outer diameter B of the spool 3 is set to 30-50 mm, the gear ratio S2/S1 is set to 3.5-7.5 (S1 is the number of teeth of a pinion gear 6 and S2 is the number of teeth of a drive gear 7 engaging with the pinion gear 6) and the module of both gears 6, 7 is set to 0.3-0.4.
