PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aquarium capable of suppressing the generation of algae, moss or the like, and further to provide an accessory for the aquarium, capable of suppressing the generation of the algae, the moss or the like by using the accessory in the aquarium. SOLUTION: This aquarium has a photocatalytic material layer within a part of a region on the inner surface of an aquarium body 2. The photocatalyst comprises either of titanium oxide or zinc oxide. The accessory for the aquarium has the photocatalytic material layer at least on a part of a region of the surface of the accessory body. The accessory is any of a block 28, a brick, a pumice, a ceramic 26, a plastic molding, an artificial water plant, an almite plate, an almite pipe, a chip of wood, a driftwood, a glass product, gravel 22 and a stone 24.
