<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing system wherewith the situation of a printing unit is suitably grasped when a host unit controls supply of electric power to the printing unit, and also to provide the printing unit and the host unit to be used in the system, a control method therefor and an information recording medium. SOLUTION: A host unit 103 transmits commands including printing data and a command for cutting electric power supply to a printing unit 102, and in the case where the command for cutting electric power supply is transmitted, the host unit receives an information regarding the situation of the printing unit 102 transmitted therefrom. The printing unit 102 receives the commands transmitted from the host unit 103. In the case where the received command is for cutting the electric power supply, the printing unit executes a process for stopping a maintenance process for a printing head, transmits an information regarding the situation thereof to the host unit 103, executes a process for cutting electric power supply, stores the received commands in a command storage part, and reads out the stored commands successively. In the case where the read-out command is for printing data, the unit makes printing with characters or figures corresponding to the printing data.</p> |
