HIGH-RIGIDITY STEEL CODE FOR RUBBER-REINFORCING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a steel cord for rubber-reinforcing and having high rigidity, low bracing character of the first wire bundle and a compact outside diameter equivalent to a cord of 1×n structure and capable of thinning the thickness of a rubber sheet. SOLUTION: This steel cord has N(N=2 to 5)+M(M=1 to 3) structure and wire numbers of N>=M. The first wire bundle is untwisted and assembled to form longitudinally continuous spiral as a whole and the second wire bundle is rounded thereon and the centers C of the circumscribed circles are arrayed almost on a line at a perpendicular section to longitudinal direction of the cord.
