METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR AUTOMATICALLY WELDING LARGE CRUDE OIL STORAGE TANK

PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for automatically welding a large crude oil storage tank enabling simultaneous welding on both sides of wall surface shells of the tank in order to make the large crude oil storage tank are provided. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus for automatically welding a large crude oil storage tank comprises a frame(21) horizontally movable along pseudo-welded wall surface shells of the tank; an elevation adjusting joint(24) which is vertically movably coupled to the frame(21); a pair of wheel grinders(25) which are installed at the elevation adjusting joint(24) so as to remove rust and foreign materials on both surfaces of a welding part; a pair of preheating torches(27) which are installed at the elevation adjusting joint(24) so as to preheat the welding part; and a pair of welding torches(28) simultaneously carrying out welding on the both sides of the preheated welding part, thereby horizontally automatic welding the wall surface shells.
