PURPOSE:To provide a highly blood-absorbing nonwoven fabric for medical supplies, with the distribution of the blood absorbed within one sheet thereof. CONSTITUTION:The objective method for producing the subject nonwoven fabric characterized by (A) removing through suction part of webs containing highly water-absorbing fibers and (B) partly masking webs in their laminating by air lay method. Besides, the objective nonwoven fabric has the following characteristics: (1) the highly water-absorbing fibers are heterogeneously distributed with their content altered continuously and/or discontinuously; (2) water- absorbing polymer sol has been attached thereto through printing or spraying, and the water-absorbing polymer are heterogeneously distributed with their content altered continuously and/or discontinuously; (3) keeping >=250wt.% of horse blood after removing such blood under a pressure of 2 psi; and (4) satisfying the relationship: y>10x (x is the total wt.% of the highly water- absorbing fibers and/or water-absorbing polymer, y is wt.% of the blood absorbed). |
