PURPOSE: A sealing performance maintaining structure maintains the seal between a dust cover and a steering gear box. CONSTITUTION: A sealing member(100) is disposed on the top surface of a gear box(10). The sealing performance maintaining structure is completed by fitting a dash dust cover at a dash panel(5) and fixing the outer circumferential flange on the dash panel(5). Then a steering wheel and etc. are connected by providing a steering device. The pressing portion of the sealing member(100) is closely attached to the lower surface of a dash dust cover. On the upper portion of the pressing portion, a protrusion at the middle portion is on a higher position than another protrusion, thereby maintaining a complete watertight and sealing performances. Therefore, the sealing force of the sealing member(100) is always maintained constantly.
