HAND-OFF METHOD USING GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION SYSTEM THEREOF

PURPOSE: A hand-off method using geographical information and a communication system thereof are provided to automatically perform hand-off with a mobile station, according to geographical information of a place where a base station is located. CONSTITUTION: If mobile stations(200a-200n) perform one of origination and incoming, identification information of serving base stations(201a-201n) connected with the mobile stations(200a-200n) are transmitted to a hand-off processor(203) through wireless controllers(202a-202p) controlling the serving base stations(201a-201n). The hand-off processor(203) searches pre-stored geographical information of each base station according to the transmitted identification information, to decide whether the serving base stations(201a-201n) perform services for specific ground. If so, the hand-off processor(203) performs hand-off for the mobile stations(200a-200n) through the wireless controllers(202a-202p).
