PURPOSE: An expansion tank in a marine engine is provided to remove the valve housing of a thermostat valve as well as to reduce the length of a pipe laying and easily lay the pipe laying by filling the role of a coupling pipe laying between the coolant outlet of the thermostat valve and an exhaust manifold and a bypass coupling pipe laying from the thermostat valve. CONSTITUTION: An expansion tank contains a coolant passing chamber(A) in the side upper for passing high temperature coolant from a marine engine with a coolant inlet(41) and a second outlet(42b). The second outlet is placed in the side lower portion of an exhaust manifold. An expansion tank chamber(B) is formed in the last part of the expansion tank. A bypass pipe(50) is penetrated through the coolant passing chamber oppositely to the second outlet and a second thermostat valve(11b) is embedded in the coolant passing chamber to crisscross open the second outlet and the bypass pipe. Further, a first thermostat valve(11a) is embedded in the side portion of the coolant passing chamber through a first outlet(42a) and a valve cover(11") is installed on the outer faces of the first and the second outlet. Thus, the length of a coolant pipe laying is remarkably reduced for an easy assembly and disassembly and a valve housing for the first and the second thermostat valve is unnecessary.
