PURPOSE: A method for allocating a wireless resource to a subscriber wireless terminal in a wireless local loop system is provided to maximize utilization of a wireless resource by rendering a channel allocation at a wireless interval to be variable in a variable bandwidth allocating and managing function on a PCM bus CONSTITUTION: As an ISDN subscriber requests a 'B' channel for a telephonic communication, he or she receives a channel allocation message requested in a switching system(10) from a radio port controller(RPC)(20)(ST11). When the RPC(20) transmits the channel allocation message to a radio port(RP)(30), the RP(30) performs an FSM machine of a variable bandwidth allocating and managing function by interworking with a radio interface unit(RIU)(40)(ST12,ST13). The RIU(40) and an ISDN module(50) constructs a PCM highway bus of a size equivalent to the capacity of the allocated channel (ST14,ST15). In the channel allocation, while the ISDM subscriber does not make a phone call or use a data communication, a channel of a 'D' channel capacity is allocated to a wireless interval and a 16Kbps channel is allocated to the PCM bus between the RIU(40) and the ISDN module(50). When the subscriber makes a phone call or makes a data communication equivalent to a capacity of a 'B' channel and the 'B' channel is allocated by one, a 80Kbps channel is allocated to the wireless interval and the PCM bus interval. When a 2B+D channel is allocated, a 144Kbps channel is allocated to the wireless interval and the PCM bus interval. When the subscriber finishes telephonic communication or the data communication capacity is reduced, the wireless channel allocation is released as much as one 'B' channel capacity. |
