PURPOSE: A reception selecting method using a caller number voice announcement in a private branch exchange is provided to enable a user to freely and arbitrary a call reception selecting according to the situation of an extension subscriber even with a terminal without an LCD through a voice announcement on a caller number in an add-in service related to the caller number of an ISDN network. CONSTITUTION: It is discriminated whether a call is initiated from an ISDN network(ST11). When a receiving call is initiated from the ISDN network, a reception ring is transmitted to an extension subscriber corresponding to the called party to inform him or her that there is a phone call(ST12). Then, the extension subscriber listens to the reception ring and answers the phone by picking up the receiver(ST13). At this time, a call response is not sent to the network, and the call connection state is maintained to allow the caller to continuously listen to the call connection sound(ST14). The caller number voice announcement is transmitted to the extension subscriber(ST15), so that the extension subscriber determines whether he or she would be connected to the call. It is determined whether the extension subscriber has hung up the receiver to discriminate whether the extension subscriber accepts or denies receiving the call(ST16). If the subscriber maintains picking up the receiver, the voice announcement function is released and a connect message is transmitted to the network to connect to call(ST17). As the network connects the voice of the both parties to set up a call(ST18). If the extension subscriber does not want to receive the call, a disconnect message is sent to the network to forcefully attempt the call release, and accordingly, the call at the receiving party is released(ST19).
