PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device and a method of displaying image to obtain an image having high contrast and a wide angle of visibility, and to provide an image display device, a method of displaying image, and an image display medium showing good stability of particles for repeated use. SOLUTION: An electronic paper is produced by sealing conductive black particles 36 and insulating white particles 38 between a display substrate 40 consisting of a hole-transfer film and a nondisplay substrate 42 consisting of a two-layer structure film produced by forming an electrode layer 44 of about 50μm thickness on a charge-transfer film. An electric field is generated by a recording head 10 in the position according to image data in the electronic paper so as to move the black particles 36 deposition on the whole face of the display substrate 40 to the nondisplay substrate 42. Thus, the image by the contrast between black and white colors is formed on the display substrate 4.
