Ironless wound electric-motor rotor - has external thread joined to windings by baked varnish

The ironless wound cylindrical rotor for an electric motor has the windings held together by baked varnish, while a thread wound round the outside is joined to the windings by hardening material. This consists of baked varnish. The rotor can be wound from wire coated with the varnish and to the desired size, after which the coated or impregnated thread is wound on and the whole is baked in an oven. The thread can be formed by one or more strands of glass fibre, while the varnish can be modified polyamide with a m.pt. of about 160 deg.C..
