摘要 <p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem that, in a liquid crystal display panel of a transverse electric field mode, contrast is lowered owing to light leakage from a gap part between a source wiring and a common wiring adjacent thereto or a pixel electrode or an aperture ratio is lowered owing to a black matrix preventing the light leakage. SOLUTION: A vertical electric field is made to be generated at the gap part by providing an electric field control electrode on a counter electrode so as to cover edges of the source wiring. Consequently, liquid crystal molecules are raised up and the gap part becomes to be in a black state and the light leakage is eliminated to enhance the contrast. Since an allowable margin with respect to the mis-registration is wide and it is not needed to expand a light shielding area to a pixel part because the electric field is used, the aperture ratio is enhanced.</p>
