PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform simpler and surer specification of a target image forming device from among many image forming devices scattered on a network. SOLUTION: A printer 1 is connected with a computer 2 by the network 3. When a mark key 25 on an operation panel 16 of the printer 1 is depressed, the present date and time are read by a clock device 13 in a parameter control part 17 and stored in a parameter storage part 14 with a mark state. The mark state, the date and time of mark, the name of the printer, its status and an IP address are displayed on a screen of the computer 2.
