PURPOSE: To obtain an efficient and compact ammonia-refrigerating machine having improved safety. CONSTITUTION: This ammonia-refrigerating machine uses ammonia as the refrigerant and has an ammonia refrigerating cycle, where a compressor 1, a condenser 2, an expansion valve 3, and an evaporator 4 are connected by piping. The ammonia-refrigerating device is also equipped with a casing 13 that incorporates the compressor 1 and an electric motor 11 for driving the compressor 1 and circulates the refrigerant, the stator coil winding of the electric motor 11 that is an aluminum electrical wire, and brine that is compressed in the casing 13 and is cooled by the refrigerant evaporated by the evaporator 4.
