DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MEASURING PHASE CHANGE OF OPTICAL FIBER

PURPOSE: A measuring device for the phase change of an optical fiber and a measuring method thereof are provided to analyze the phase change of light caused by an alternating physical amount in a frequency spectrum by a transducer. CONSTITUTION: A measuring device for the phase change of an optical fiber comprises a detected light source generator(10); a directional combiner(31) creating a ring by connecting both ends to both ends of an optical fiber(51) and moving the optical fiber counterclockwise or clockwise by divided light; a phase modulator(40) modulating the phase of detected light from the directional combiner and transmitting the light to the other end of the optical fiber; a converter(48) changing the phase of the detected light modulated according to the alternating physical amount; and a RF(radio-frequency) spectrum analyzer(80) measuring the phase change caused by a frequency corresponding to the alternating physical amount by analyzing a frequency spectrum. Therefore, the phase change of the optical fiber is easily measured.
