MULTIMEDIA SEARCHING AND BROWSING METHOD USING MULTIMEDIA USER PROFILE AND USER PROFILE

PURPOSE: The multimedia searching and browsing method is provided for a user to search based on a user's preference by selecting one item out of searching items related to the multimedia in accordance with user's preference. CONSTITUTION: A searching items arraying reference preference(401) includes a kind of searching items(402) and an items arraying reference(403) deciding an order arraying the searching items in accordance with the kind. The items arraying reference(403) includes a reference kind(404) and a preference value(405) with respect to one reference kind. If a user searches and browses an object, a searching device shows searching items to a user, and performs an arraying order of searching items in accordance with the items arraying reference(403) from user profile information. The items arraying reference(403) may be an appearance frequency or an actor's age when a searching and browsing are performed using the characters of a moving picture. Also, the items arraying reference(403) may be a fast order of moving image period based on the key frame, a lightness of the key frame picture or a color of the key frame picture when a searching and browsing are performed using a key frame of a moving picture. The preference value(405) is stored by each user, and the searching device displays an arrayed searching items based on a user's preference value with respect to an item arraying reference of a user.
