PURPOSE: A method for preventing an overflow of a buffer is provided to measure a data amount of a receiving buffer, and to supply two clock sources according to the data amount, so that the data amount of the receiving buffer can be uniformed and an overflow of the buffer can be prevented. CONSTITUTION: A high threshold and a low threshold for a usage amount of a receiving buffer are set(S1). A usage amount of the present receiving buffer is measured in data transceiving(S2). Whether the usage amount of the receiving buffer is under the low threshold is decided(S3). If so, a clock is interfaced to a clock-L, to maintain the usage amount of the receiving buffer to be over the low threshold(S4). If the measured usage amount is not under the low threshold, whether the usage amount of the receiving buffer is over the high threshold is decided(S5). If over the high threshold, a receiving data clock is interfaced to a clock-H, to maintain the usage amount of the receiving buffer to be under the high threshold(S6). If the usage amount is not over the high threshold as a result of the fifth step, the present data clock is maintained and data transceiving is performed, then the steps are ended(S7).
