PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patch panel, with which reliability for communication is increased and such information related to wiring as the use, address or the like can be easily distinguished. SOLUTION: A patch panel A is composed of a modular jack 10, with which a modular plug is connected in a manner that the plug can be put in and pulled out freely and of a panel 50 on which more than one modular jack 10 is installed and which is attached to a fixed part such as a rack. A door 60 to cover a plug insertion opening 12 of a modular jack 10 is provided on the panel 50, in such a manner that the door is freely open able. The door 60 is a nearly square-shaped flat plate with a shaft 61 on one edge and on the surface of the door 60 are marked letters to show the use of the modular jack 10. Moreover, on the front surface of the panel 50, bearing sections 62 which support both ends of the shaft 61 attached to the door 60 are provided, and a fastening segment 63 which fastens on the end of the door 60 and holds the door 60 over the plug insertion opening 12 is also provided on the front surface of the panel 50.
