PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multipipe external heating kiln to reduce incurring of an nergy loss and remarkably reduce an amount of processed ash accompanying with decomposition production gas. SOLUTION: This kiln comprises a cylindrical heating furnace 1; a plurality of heating pipes 2 extending through the axis of the heating furnace 1; single cylinder parts 3 and 4 on the starting side and the terminating side of the heating part 2; a raw material charging means 5 situated at the single cylinder part 3 on the starting side; and a rotation means to revolve the heating pipe 2. After a substance to be treated charged by the raw material charging means 5 is introduced in the heating pipe 2 to effect heating treatment, the terminal end of the heating pipe 2 is extended to the terminating part of the single cylinder 4 on the terminating side. A screw blade 16 is situated at the internal part of the extension as occasion demands. A truncated circular cover material 15 is provided to shield 1/3 to 5/6 of the parts in a right-angled direction approaching and to a revolving shaft and of the area of the terminating opening part of the heating pipe.
