PURPOSE: Provided is a pharmaceutical composition for increasing cerebral acetylcholine release. Particularly, it comprises N-anisoyl-gamma-aminobutyric acid or p-anisic acid and is used in treating circadian rhythm, sleep and attention deficit disorders. CONSTITUTION: Pharmaceutical composition for increasing cerebral acetylcholine release comprises N-anisoyl- psi -aminobutyric acid or p-anisic acid and an therapeutically inert carrier, as active ingredients. The effective dose of N-anisoyl- psi -aminobutyric acid or p-anisic acid is preferably 1- 300mg/kg per day.
