摘要 The electrode wear compensator includes a mechanism which axially displaces the two electrodes (33,34) independently of each other along an axis corresponding to the axis of symmetry of the reflector (17). One of the electrodes (33) can rotate around its longitudinal axis and is located at the axis of the reflector inside a tube (41) which is couple to a mechanism which displaces and rotates the tube and electrode. The machine has a table to support the patient during treatment of a stone, an electric arc shock wave generator, a shock wave focusing system, and a direct viewing system on the treated zone. The generator has two separated electrodes (33,34) connected to a high voltage circuit. The focusing system includes a semi-ellipsoidal reflector (17), and the ends (33a,34a) of the electrodes are arranged sensibly,f one at focal point (Fe) of the reflector and the other on the focal point (Fr) of the stone. The electrodes are fitted with a wear compensator.
