Highly pure guanosine 5'-diphosphate fucose (GDP-Fuc) having such a purity as specified below. <Purity> (1) Guanosine 5'-diphosphate fucose (GDP-Fuc): 95% or more. (2) Guanosine 5'-diphosphate (GDP): 3% or less. A process for producing highly pure GDP-Fuc characterized by involving the step of purifying a solution containing GDP-Fuc, which has been synthesized by using GMP and mannose as substrates, with the use of a nonpolar and porous adsorptive resin to thereby isolate and purify GDP-Fuc from the solution containing GDP-Fuc.
