PURPOSE:To reduce the size of a thrust magnetic bearing by making thrusting force always stable and small in operation on the thrust magnetic bearing in a turbo type compressor using the thrust magnetic bearing. CONSTITUTION:In a turbo type compressor which has an impeller built-in rotor supported by a magnetic bearing, a control valve is provided in a thrust balance line via which a balance room 33 formed outside a balance drum 32b installed on one side of the rotor is connected to a suction line for the compressor, to adjust gas flowing through the line. The valve is adjusted in relation to load operating on the thrust magnetic bearing 28. |
