PURPOSE:To produce an Ln-Ba-Cu-O type oxide superconductor (Ln is Y or lanthanoid such as La, Yb or Nd) not contg. BaCuO2 CONSTITUTION:Ln2O3, BaCO, and Cu0 are prepd. as starting materials in (1+2delta):(2+deltaf):(3+delta) (0<delta<0.5) ratio of Ln:Ba:Cu. These starting materials are melted with plasma and cooled to form a solid soln. This solid soln. is rapidly heated from room temp. to 1,050 deg.C in about 10-20min and the starting materials are perfectly melted by holding at 1,050 deg.C for about 30min-1hr. The resulting melt is cooled to 1,000>=C at 2-10 deg.C/hr cooling rate and slowly cooled from 1,000 deg.C to room temp. in about 10-20hr to produce a superconductor consisting of LnBa2Cu3Ox and Ln2BaCuO5. |
