PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for the prophylaxis, treatment or handling of sexual dysfunction. SOLUTION: This method comprises administering a therapeutically effective dose of dapoxetine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt as a specific example of a quick-acting selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor to a patient requiring the treatment on the as-needed basis prior to the sexual behavior. The sexual dysfunction is prospermia and about 0.01 to about 200 mg of the dapoxetine or its pharmaceutically acceptable salt is preferably orally administered to a human male on the as-needed bases during a period of time just prior to and about 12 h prior to the sexual behavior. |
