PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improving the precision of fuel injection control by preventing the dispersion of a fuel injection amount in separate injection of fuel. SOLUTION: In an in-cylinder injection engine which has an injector 18 for injecting fuel directly into a combustion chamber and a fuel injection control means 83 for controlling a required amount of fuel to be injected separate times in a preset operation range by the injector 18, a time interval from ending fuel injection at the first stage to starting fuel injection at the second stage is set to be a reference time or longer, required for preventing the dispersion of fuel injection to injection pulses, in separate injection of fuel.
