ARRANGEMENT FOR CONTROLLING THE CHANNEL SEARCH OF A TRANSMITTER-RECEIVER PAIR

For channel searching in transmitter-receiver pairs (base stationand mobile unit of a cordless telephone system), preferred channels (KV) out of the aggregate of available channels (K1...K80) are specified using the common identification code (ID) for the base station (FT) and associated mobile units (PT1...PTn). To prevent seizure errors in channel searching the transmitting unit (e.g. the mobile unit) transmits an identification character (EK1...EK80) for an occupied forward channel (K1...K80). The receiving unit (e.g. the base station) checks this identification character (EK1...EK80) with an identification character (AK1...Ak80) of the actuel receiving channel. When the compare result is positive a backward channel is occupied; otherwise the channel search is continued.
