PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolating wooden building capable of assembling a base isolating structure between a base and a foundation easily, reducing the cost of construction, and providing favorable and excellent base-isolating effect on the wooden building having a light dead load. SOLUTION: This base isolating wooden building includes the base 2 of a wooden building, a foundation 3 which is disposed above the base 2, and formed out of a horizontal brace, and receives the load of the wooden building through a column, a rigid base plate 4 formed into the roughly same shape as the plane shape of the foundation 3 using a rigid member, and provided on the bottom surface of the foundation 3, and a base isolating device 5 formed so that an elastic member 53 may be fixed so as to be sandwiched by upper and lower of two plates 51, 52, the upper plate 51 may be fixed to the rigid base plate 4, and the lower plate 52 may be fixed to the base 2, wherein the base isolating device 5 is mounted directly below the position where at least the column 7 is suspended so as to apply its load to respective elastic members 53 equally by determining the number of the devices to be mounted based on the dead load of the wooden building.
