PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing composition capable of completely, substantially and permanently treating defective parts of concrete, in a method for reinforcing concrete. SOLUTION: The production process of this reinforcing composition comprises bundling a number of spun glass fiber filaments into a roving with a bundling agent chopping the roving into chopped strands each having a prescribed length, immersing the chopped strands in a solvent to remove the bundling agent from the chopped strands and to obtain a glass fiber bulk that consists of separated short glass fibers each having an about 3 mm fiber length; mixing the glass fiber bulk with a crosslinked-acrylic emulsion coating material to form a slurry for reinforcing concrete, i.e., the objective reinforcing composition. This reinforcing method of concrete comprises coating a deteriorated concrete surface with the above slurry by using a gun or the like and drying the coated surface, to form a coating film for reinforcing concrete on the deteriorated concrete surface.
