PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a norbornanedimethyleneamine by hydrogenating a norbornanedicarbonitrile compound, by which the norbornanedimethyleneamine can profitably be produced and by which the life of a catalyst to be used for the reaction can be prolonged. SOLUTION: This method for producing the norbornanedimethyleneamine comprises hydrogenating the norbornanedicarbonitrile compound in the presence of a manganese-containing Raney cobalt catalyst and in the presence of water in an amount of 0.1 to 1.5 moles per mole of the norbornanedicarbonitrile compound.
