PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cloth feeding device capable of preventing a sewing failure such as puckering and pattern displacement by eliminating dispersion of the feed of an upper cloth and a lower cloth when feeding the cloth due to difference of a frictional resistance value of the surface of the cloth and expansion ratio of the cloth. SOLUTION: Sewing cloth is fed by a cloth feeding element such as a belt 12 intermittently driven for circulation by a step motor 9. A control unit 2 for correcting the deviation of the feed of the upper cloth when feeding the cloth while correcting it with test sewing and for increasing or decreasing the feed of the cloth by the quantity of correction for control is provided. Deviation of the feed of the cloth due to a difference of friction and expansion ratio is corrected by controlling the feed of the belt while synchronizing with the sewing operation of the sewing machine, and a sewing failure can be thereby eliminated.
