PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for stitching a preform capable of stitching the preform independently of the shape thereof. SOLUTION: In the method of stitching a cylindrical or bag-like preform 1 with sewing machine needles 3, 4, a looped thread 43 is inserted to the preform 1 from the outside thereof while using the sewing machine needles 3, 4, and a loop 46 is inserted into the other loop 44, and both the loops 44, 46 are engaged with each other, and a thread 43 of the loop 44 is drawn outside of the preform 1 and inserted into the other loop 46 again so that both the loops 44, 46 are engaged with each other, and the loop 46 is drawn. This operation is repeated in order for stitching.
