PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten a mold opening distance by embedding a mold attracting device in a stationary platen or the like and directly attaching a mold and to obtain a mold attracting effect by a magnetic force by adopting an alnico magnet as the magnet. SOLUTION: Mold attracting devices 5 are respectively embedded in recesses 6, 1 formed in opposed surfaces of a stationary platen 1 and a movable platen 2. Each device 5 has a cylindrical assembling ring 10, a magnetizing coil 7 disposed in space on an outer periphery of the ring 10, a magnet 12 of an Alnico magnet of many short poles filled in parallel with the ring 10 in the space, an iron core 13 of a disc shape plate formed with a mold attracting surface by engaging with an outer periphery of an outside assembling ring of the magnet 12, and a ring-like separator and an annular cover for closing a recess opening of the periphery of the core.
