PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new fish-attracting chum suitable for the storage over a long period and free from the problem of environmental destruction. SOLUTION: A tablet is produced by mixing powder of sodium bicarbonate and fumaric acid generating carbon dioxide bubble in water, sodium sulfate functioning as a foaming-acceleration agent, iron oxide diffusing in water to generate red smoky clouding, silicon dioxide acting as a mold-releasing agent and mysid flavor generating the flavor of bait and tableting the powdery mixture with a tableting machine under a pressure of about 10 tons. The produced disk 10 of the fish-attracting chum main body is held in a perforated cover 20 made of a vinyl resin. As an alternative, the powdery mixture is formed to a doughnut-shaped main body 40 for fish-attracting chum. When the product is thrown in the sea with a suspension string 30,50, fish is collected by the bubbles, clouding and mysid flavor generated in the sea. The fish attracting effect continues for about 10 min by the use of a tablet having a diameter of about 2 cm.
