PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel combustion type heating apparatus for an internal combustion engine capable of providing good start by preventing excessive consumption of an oxide in intake air when engine speed is low. SOLUTION: A burner 74 for heating intake air to be taken in an internal combustion engine 10 is arranged on a surge tank 20 connected to an intake pipe 16. A fuel tank 62 is connected to the burner 74 through a solenoid valve 72 and a pump for heating 70. By referring to a map shown in Fig. 6, target fuel pressure PO of fuel to be supplied to the burner 74 is determined on the basis of engine speed NE of the internal combustion engine 10. The pump for heating 70 and the solenoid valve 72 are driven so that fuel pressure PF of fuel to be supplied to the burner 74 corresponds to the target fuel pressure PO. In this way, when the engine speed NE is low, fuel amount to be supplied to the burner 74 decreases, and excessive consumption of oxide in the intake air when combusting the burner 74 can be prevented.
