PURPOSE:To provide an image forming apparatus in which a positional relation of two print heads can be accurately regulated. CONSTITUTION:Two ion heads 2, 3 are provided at a dielectric drum 1 in a sub-scanning direction, so set that print dots of the heads 2, 3 are deviated by a half-dot pitch in a main scanning direction, the head 3 is movable in response to an operating amount of a motor in the main scanning direction, a test pattern is formed on the drum 1 by the heads 2, 3, and a test pattern is developed. Thereafter, it is read by a read detecting sensor 5, an interval of the test patterns is calculated by a print head moving amount detector 102 through a test pattern detector 101, the moving amount of the head 3 is calculated by the calculated result, and the motor is driven in response to the moving amount by a motor driver 103. |
