PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a printer of an ultrathin card type. SOLUTION: A platen roller 12 for sending a thermosensitive paper 8 while pressing the paper to a thermal head 11 is supported by a supporting plate 14 via supporting rollers 13a and 13b of members having surfaces of a small friction factor. Since the platen roller 12 can be supported along a longitudinal direction by the supporting plate 14, even the platen roller of a small diameter can apply a predetermined pressure, and a thin and compact printer assembly 10 can be assembled. A printer of a thickness of approximately 5 mm can be realized.
