A connector for providing a liquid-leak-proof and mechanically secure connection between an injection needle 5 and a dispensing device 1. The dispensing device 1 comprises the first portion of a male and a female fitting set and the needle 5 comprises the complementary portion of the male and female fitting set. The connection of the fittings provides a liquid passage between the dispenser 1 and the needle 5, wherein the connector includes a cap 2 which is releasably fastenable to the dispensing device 1 and characterized in that the unfastening of the cap from the dispensing device acts to separate the male and female fittings.
