PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the sizes and thicknesses of a slide bearing spindle motor and a magnetic disc device by using a slide bearing which is constituted by integrating a radial bearing with a thrust beating. SOLUTION: A radial-thrust integral bearing 17 is constituted of radial bearing sections 12 and 25 and thrust bearing sections 15 and 28, and magnetic fluid sealing sections are provided to thrust bearing plates 11 and 24 so as to seal a magnetic fluid injected into yokes 16 and 23 for sealing with the sealing sections. In addition, the radial bearing sections 12 and 25 are attached to the same positions as the attaching positions of discs 1 and 3 or on the outsides of the discs 1 and 3, so as to reduce the size and thickness of the bearings 12 and 25 and improve the rigidity and sealing reliability of the bearings 12 and 25. When the bearings 12 and 25 are constituted in this way, the size and thickness of the slide bearing of the spindle motor of a magnetic disc device can be reduced, and the rigidity and sealing reliability of the bearing can be improved.
