PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and control an improved dynamic range by generating a display map defining the relation between the dynamic range of an original medical image representing a patient and a target dynamic range and preparing an image having the target dynamic range based on the display map and the original medical image. SOLUTION: An image acquisition workstation 10 further includes display unit 28 and a user interface 30 and respectively acquires information from an operator. The workstation 10 includes at least one CPU 32 executing a processing system and a memory 34 to control the dynamic range of an acquired medical image. The workstation 10 generates a gray level-optical density model 42. The model 42 defines the concrete relation between the gray level of a digital detector 22 and desired optical density that is defined preliminarily or by an operator. |
