PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a microphone system for collecting sound according to separate sound-source, in which voices generated by a plurality of photographing objects situated on the front axis of a video camera are separated from an ambient noise, so as to be collected respectively. SOLUTION: This sound-source separating directional microphone system is provided with a plurality of microphones 1, 2 which are arranged on the front axis of a video camera. The microphone system is provided with a sound- source separating circuit 3, containing an adaptive processing circuit which optimizes a coefficient constituting a separation matrix, used to reduce a correlation between respective microphone outputs. The microphone system is provided with a means, in which the initial value of the adaptive processing circuit, is controlled by information 4 on a distance up to an object for photography. The microphone system collects voice only, which is generated by the object 7 or 8 which is focused by the video camera.
