PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress drop in battery capacity and the cyclic characteristics resulting from hard filling or finer particles. SOLUTION: A positive electrode active material consists of a granular composition prepared from secondary particles formed by gathering the primary particles expressed by the formula LiXMO2, where M represents one or more of transition metals, and having a tap density of 2.65 g/cc or more. As the starting material, the granular substance uses at least one sort of a powder of lithium compound, salt of transition metal, oxide of transition metal, and hydroxide of transition metal, and after gas generation from the material, the baking temperature is dropped to shrink the material for baking fast followed by a regular process of baking. |
