PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical pickup capable of easily, speedily and accurately positioning a suspension wire. SOLUTION: The optical pickup has a pickup base, an actuator base, a damper base and an actuator composed of a fixed part and a movable part. The fixed part is composed of a yoke and a permanent magnet connected to the yoke. The movable part is composed of an objective lens, a lens holder for holding the objective lens, a tracking coil and a focusing coil installed on the lens holder. The movable part is supported through four suspension wires to the damper base so as to displace. The lens holder is provided with a first wire fixing part 12 formed with a square-formed hole part 13 for inserting one end side of the suspension wire and the damper base is provided with a second wire fixing part formed with the square-formed hole part for inserting the other end side of the suspension wire.
