THIN FILM MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS PRODUCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a thin film magnetic head able to cope with high frequency recording and to restrain an eddy current from being generated by spirally winding a magnetic pole coil, while interposing an insulating layer, around a laminated part formed by alternately laminating films of a slightly magnetized material for an upper magnetic pole and a nonmagnetic material to be a plural- layer film and shortening the magnetic path between the upper magnetic pole and the lower magnetic pole. SOLUTION: The front part 9 of the upper magnetic pole 12 is made to oppose to a common shield layer 7 through a recording gap layer 10 and the back gap part 11 of the pole 12 to contact directly with the layer 7. The parallel part 13 of the pole 12 with the layer 7 is the laminated part 17 that is obtained by alternately laminating the magnetic layers 14 each consisting of a thin film formed by using the slightly magnetized material and the nonmagnetic layers 15 each consisting of a thin film formed by using the nomagnetic material and forming a magnetic layer 16 on the uppermost part by using slightly magnetized material. The magnetic pole coil 19 formed by using a material such as Cu and Al is spirally wound around the part 13 through the insulating material 18 to constitute a recording head part 20.
