<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a magnetic tape machining device which is free from a slipping off in a capstan roller or the like even in a high-speed conveying, which is capable of manufacturing with superior efficiency a magnetic tape excellent in characteristics as well as small in cupping, and moreover, which is capable of improving the working environment. SOLUTION: The machining device is equipped with an optical system that makes more than one laser beam incident on a prescribed machining position, a transporting means 24 that, while holding a magnetic tape at the machining position, transports it in the longitudinal direction with the back layer faced toward the incident side of the laser beam, and a sucking means that sucks near the surface of the back layer downstream from the machining position in the transporting direction of the magnetic tape.</p> |
