<p>PURPOSE: To stably supply a continuous strip of surface mount contacts by providing a holding means for maintaining the specified direction and position of the cut-off surface mount contact while the contact is picked up and taken out of a pickup station. CONSTITUTION: A feeder is installed on a pick-and-place machine so that the end contact of a strip 18 is guided to a pickup station 56 along a vertical axis A determining the moving passage of a vacuum nozzle 58. The vacuum nozzle 58 vertically moves during action to pick up a component and moves the component to a printed circuit board to stick it thereto. The continuous downward motion of a machine actuator 60 results in cutting the end contact from the strip 18 and moves it close to a pickup nozzle 58.</p> |
