An improved multi-channel compressor control circuit for linking individual channels together is disclosed that alters the frequency spectrum of the signal linking one channel to another. The circuit works by altering the frequency spectrum of the linking signal. By this alteration, the coupling of the input signals can be shaped, eliminating or reducing the coupling of high frequency content, eliminating or reducing the coupling of low frequency content, or both, improving multi-channel compression and thus improving the stereo or multi-channel image.
